David Carroll, MD, is a distinguished obesity medicine specialist based at Lakeland Surgical Clinic, PLLC, in Jackson, Mississippi. He earned his medical degree with honors from Texas Tech University's School of Medicine in 1988 and completed his surgical internship and residency at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. A member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, Dr. Carroll moved to Jackson in 1998 and established a private practice. Over the years, he has trained numerous providers in general and bariatric surgery. Dr. Carroll holds certifications from the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and a member of the Obesity Medicine Association and Mississippi State Medical Association. He serves on the medical staff at Baptist Health Systems, St. Dominic Hospital, and Merit Health River Oaks, conducting weekly clinics and collaborating with local hospitals to offer weight loss surgery through their accredited bariatric clinics.
